Childcare

I offer a comprehensive and flexible childcare service in a warm and cosy environment to meet the needs of families that I care for. The children are encouraged to respect and care for each other through our daily activities. Babies and toddlers are cared for together, with provision made for their developmental needs. I provide a quiet sleep area and clean floor play area for babies, with age-appropriate toys and facilities, with a suitable daily routine. We have meal times together as I think this is an important part of the day, and encourages the development of good manners and other social skills. We also go to the park, on nature walks, and visit other childminders and their children in the area.

I take and collect from Sawley Nursery, Sawley Infant and Sawley Junior schools. I also provide childcare through the school holidays. I provide a wide range of activities for the older children, with opportunities to relax, or do homework. I like to encourage learning along with everyday tasks e.g. remembering things on the shopping list; matching coloured beakers with the clothes they have on so they can remember which is their drink, etc.

Working Alongside Parents

I believe that children benefit from having consistent care and expectations, so I work closely with parents to ensure I am meeting their requirements in all aspects of our daily routine. I provide a daily diary for parents of all the babies that I mind, and encourage the parents to write in information for me.

I always respect the confidentiality of parents and children, apart from the very exceptional circumstances where I have good reason to be concerned for the safety of the child.

Please feel free at any time to discuss anything I can do for your child's individual needs.

Parental Consent Requirement

I am required to obtain the consent of the parent/guardian for various childcare activities and procedures. These, along with the childcare agreement ("Contract") will be discussed in detail with you if you wish to come along for a visit.
